A bold, new look for the Seattle Public Library, inspired by the Central Branch in Downtown Seattle.

ABOUT

WINTER 2017
Instructor: Ben Graham
The Seattle Public Library was established in 1890, and serves as an intellectual beacon for the unique, diverse, and thriving citizens of Seattle.

The Central Branch, in itself, is an architectural Marvel, (with a capital M) and its presence alone offers opportunity only a library can provide. The Seattle Public Library is for the intellectually motived and curious; where people are given the freedom to express their best ideas, and free access of the resources and communities to develop them.

Inspired by the bright, bold colors found throughout the Central Branch, (the Red Room in particular) this redesign aims to simply reflect what the Library is, and has always stood for.
